(Philadelphia, PA – August 7, 2025): On August 6, 2025, AccessMatters received notification from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that the organization’s Title X Family Planning funding has been restored after being withheld for four months.
AccessMatters’ President & CEO, Ayana Bradshaw released the following statement in response:
“We are thrilled with the decision to restore this critical funding that close to 62,000 people in Southeastern Pennsylvania rely on for their family planning services. Our team at AccessMatters and staff at our network of healthcare providers remain committed to ensuring continuity of care for our patients as we work collaboratively to restore the full complement of essential family planning services at over 70 locations across our region.
Our unwavering goal has always been to ensure people can maintain access to services. Throughout this period of withholding, the dedication and commitment of our providers and staff never wavered. Ensuring continued access to care was always top of mind and at the heart of every decision made. Despite the unprecedented challenges, our providers and staff met the moment with grace, adaptability, and deep resolve. We are profoundly grateful for their resilience and determination in ensuring patients continue to receive the vital family planning services they depend on.
We remain committed to advocating for full funding for the Title X Family Planning Program to ensure our providers’ doors remain open and our collective patients receive the care they seek.
Title X, the nation’s family planning program, is paramount to people’s access to sexual and reproductive healthcare in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Ultimately, without this program, the impacts would be far reaching: More unintended pregnancies, more cancer diagnoses, more maternal deaths, more untreated infections, and countless other consequences we can’t afford to ignore.”
