AccessMatters’ Health Resource Centers are private spaces where high school youth across Pennsylvania can receive counseling, education, condoms, and referrals to community-based sexual and reproductive health and related services. Health Resource Centers promote the benefits of abstinence and safer sexual behavior, along with:

  • Encouraging critical thinking around sexual activity
  • Promoting healthy relationships and behaviors regarding human sexuality
  • Promoting safer sexual behavior, including access to, and correct use of, condoms and other safer sex tools, and
  • Reducing unintended pregnancies and STD/HIV infection by providing referrals for reproductive healthcare services, contraception, and STD/HIV testing

During this time of sheltering at home, those private spaces may now be virtual. Our program partners and community sites are able to provide individual and confidential counseling and education to high school youth via telehealth, and connect them to immediate care if needed. And for those counties that have moved to “green”, a few program partners are providing in-person services as needed.

As we navigate this current normal, AccessMatters and our program partners and community sites are committed to ensuring that our young people are still connected to care.

All high school youth across Pennsylvania have to do is text THRIVE to 833-667-3377 or call 1-800-848-3367 to connect with a Pennsylvania sexual health counselor in their area!

If you don’t see your county listed, don’t worry. You can still text or call for basic information, or you can enter your zip code here to find a provider close to you.
