[PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 20, 2019)]: Melissa Weiler Gerber, AccessMatters’ President & CEO released the following statement:
“AccessMatters remains committed to its diverse network of family planning providers and the patients they serve. Our Network serves over 100,000 patients annually with preventive health services, including: annual gynecological exams, breast and cervical cancer screenings, HIV/STD screening and treatment, birth control, and counseling, information, and medical services related to family planning services.
Even as we continue to advocate for removing the new regulatory restrictions on pregnancy options counseling and referrals, we are focused on supporting the health care providers in our network to manage recent changes to the program and ensure continued access to care for all who depend upon Title X funded services. As required of us as a Title X grantee, we submitted to the Office of Population Affairs our action plan for coming into compliance with the new Title X regulations, in accordance with the August 19th deadline. Our patients and providers continue to be our top priority as we work to maintain access to critical preventive health services in Southeastern Pennsylvania.”
